Description
He has graduated in Mathematics cum laude at Sapienza University of Rome in 1989 and received his PhD in Mathematics from University of Trento in 1994. He has worked at University of Trento, Deutscher Wetterdienst and Max Planck Institute for Meteorology Hamburg, as well as being visiting scientist at several research institutions and universities and the recipient of a Marie Curie TMR grant.
He is Associate Professor of Numerical Analysis at Politecnico di Milano. He is a member of the Modelling and Scientific Computing Laboratory MOX since 2004.
His research work is mostly focused on accurate and efficient numerical methods for a number of environmental fluid dynamics problems ranging from weather prediction to sediment transport in rivers.
